Jack also shares great advice for young players from both his playing experience, as well as his coaching experience.
Jack McDowell is a former Major League pitcher who was born in Van Nuys, CA and attended Notre Dame High School. He was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 20th round of the 1984 MLB Draft, but did not sign. Jack chose to attend Stanford University where as an All-American, led the Cardinal to the 1987 College World Series championship. On June 2nd of the 1987 MLB Draft, the Chicago White Sox selected Jack as the 5th overall pick in the 1st round and made his Major League debut later that same year on September 15th. Jack was selected to the Major League All-Star game in 1991, 1992, and 1993. After posting a 22-10 record, a 3.37 ERA and leading the Chicago White Sox to the American League West Division title, Jack won the 1993 American League Cy Young award. He would continue his major league career with the New York Yankees, the Cleveland Indians and the Anaheim Angels over the next 6 years before completing a 13 year professional career. In 2012, Jack was inducted into the Notre Dame High School Hall of Fame. Jack currently resides in Charlotte, NC and is married to Kerrie, father to daughters Molly and Olivia, and sons Emmett, Lucas, Rhett, and Rory.

Former MLB infielder, Jeff Schaefer shares his inspiring story of draft day, his call up to the big leagues and his MLB debut. Jeff also provides valuable advice for young players and shares his perspective on the game, now as a coach.
Jeff Schaefer is a former Major League infielder who was born in Patchogue, NY where he attended Patchogue-Medford High School. On June 8th of the 1981 MLB Draft, the Baltimore Orioles selected Jeff in the 12th round out of the University of Maryland. On April 7th, 1989, he made his major league debut with the Chicago White Sox and would continue his major league career with the Seattle Mariners and the Oakland A’s over the next 5 years before completing a 14 year professional career. In 2010, Jeff was inducted into the Suffolk County, NY Hall of Fame. Jeff currently resides in Tega Cay, SC and is married to Amanda Schaefer, father to daughters Torey and Casey, sons Zachary and Dylan, and Grandfather to Aiden.

John Ennis is a former Major League pitcher who was born in Montrose, Colorado and raised in Los Angeles, California. With the 28th pick in the 14th round of the 1998 MLB Draft, the Atlanta Braves selected John out of Monroe High School and he signed on June 18th, 1998. On April 10th, 2002, he made his major league debut with the Atlanta Braves and would return to the big leagues with the Detroit Tigers in 2004 and the Philadelphia Phillies in 2007 before completing a 13 year professional career. John currently resides in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Anna and sons, Grady and Hayes.
